BOSMAN SAYS, "NO COLD CALLS OR
ROBO-CALLS FROM ME."
|

Mayoral
Candidate Keith Bosman is taking a firm stand against "cold calls" and
"robo-calls" in his campaign. Bosman is taking the action after
discussing it with his campaign committee and hearing a very clear
message from his constituents.
"I think these
political calls have, in many cases, gotten out of control," Bosman
stated. "I have talked to constituents who tell me they have gotten 8 or
10 robo-calls from the same candidate in past elections. That just
doesn't make sense."
"If Wisconsin
remains in play for the presidential primary over the next few weeks,
you can bet there will be many, many phone calls placed to Kenosha
voters," Bosman stated. "I think cold calls and robo-calls are a
nuisance and I don't think voters appreciate being bothered with them.
My campaign will not be doing them."
Bosman said his
campaign probably has more ability with the organizations that are
backing him to make the calls. "We certainly have the resources," he
said. Bosman said the organizations supporting him will be calling their
members. "The members appreciate that and my supporters will still be
talking our campaign up with neighbors and friends. But calls to
complete strangers, especially recorded messages, will not be part of
the Bosman campaign."
Bosman will
continue to do the other traditional things that will be necessary for a
successful campaign. "We will be talking to the voters at events,
continuing to knock on doors and at the various forums," he stated.
"We're going to work harder than anybody else - we're not taking
anything for granted. We just don't think Kenosha voters are so shallow
as to be convinced to vote for somebody based on a phone call, possibly
recorded, from a complete stranger."
Bosman encouraged
voters to continue to watch the forums and visit the candidates'
websites for detailed information about the candidates.

The following statement
was issued by Keith Bosman, Candidate for Mayor in the City of Kenosha.
I could not be
happier about the announcement on Wednesday that Chrysler will be making a
large investment in Kenosha to continue engine production at the Kenosha
plant well into the next decade. All of the parties involved in
protecting those jobs and continuing such a positive relationship in our
community are to be commended.
UAW Local 72 has
developed a reputation in the industry for producing the finest engine
made. Their willingness to work with the company while, at the same time,
protecting the wages and benefits not only of their active members but
also their large retiree group, bodes well for all concerned.
The economic
spin-off for the community is significant and can be measured in billions
of dollars. Every person in Kenosha will benefit from the continued
production of Chrysler engines here in Kenosha.
Mayor
Antaramian, County Exec. Kehl, Governor Doyle, our state reps and all
others who worked to put this package together are to be commended.
Kenosha is
positioned to remain one of Wisconsin’s premier economic powerhouse
communities. We live in a great city and this development will make us
even greater.

campaign helping Cub Scouts get donations for women in Iraq
Mayoral candidate
Keith Bosman is accepting donations of items for women soldiers serving
our country in Iraq. "We are asking everybody who attends our
fundraising event on March 3 from 3-5 p.m. at the Boat House to bring
along an item for us to pass on to Cub Scout Pack 533 at St. Mary's
Lutheran," Bosman stated. "We need to do everything we can to assist our
soldiers and the youngsters in Pack 533 have identified a unique and
positive way to get involved. We need to support them and help them have
a positive experience with this."
Cub Scout Pack
533 at St. Mary's Lutheran announced the drive last week. Besides
accepting items for women soldiers serving in Iraq, they are collecting

Germany. Their initiative is part of the Boy Scouts national "Good Turn

that. I believe that sets a good tone for the campaign," Bosman stated.
"When I saw this drive announced in the Kenosha News and on the Daily
Kenoshan website, I thought 'what better way to have my supporters do
something good for their country and some kids in our community at the
same time."

CAMPAIGN KICKOFF
DRAWS HUGE
KENOSHA CROWD
Kenosha
Mayoral Candidate Keith Bosman kicked off his campaign Wednesday
night with a huge gathering of friends and supporters at Casa Capri
Restaurant in Kenosha.
Ron Stevens,
chair of the Bosman for Mayor campaign committee, estimated the
turnout to be 300 people. "We wanted to have some kind of official
event where folks could express their support for Keith's effort to
keep Kenosha moving forward," Stevens said. "The turnout was much
larger than we expected. We are positioned to put a 14 month
campaign in place with support from labor, management, seniors -
virtually every segment of Kenosha's population."
Bosman, a
former alderman and member of the City of Kenosha Finance Committee,
said he was humbled by the show of support on Wednesday. "We have a
long campaign ahead of us and I'm sure there will be difficult days
just as there are good days," he said. "But this ranks right up
there with the best of days in my political career."
Bosman is
building his campaign around support for many of the initiatives
begun by Kenosha's popular current mayor, John Antaramian. "Our
campaign believes it is in the best interest of the taxpayers of
Kenosha to look forward, to make the things work that are on the
table and to expand on those initiatives so every resident of
Kenosha benefits from the positive growth taking place in our
community. Whether you are a lifelong Kenoshan who wants to protect
our traditional values or a new resident with energy and ideas you
would like to share with the community, we are looking to work on
your behalf."
Bosman said
he is focused on strengthening Kenosha's neighborhoods, drawing jobs
into the community that pay wages sufficient to support Kenosha
families, maintaining and strengthening Kenosha's great police and
fire departments and expanding our commercial tax base so that
Kenosha's property tax levy is kept under control.
"There will
be a number of events between now and the February primary," Bosman
stated. "We encourage everybody to visit our website at
http://www.keithbosman.com/ and send us your ideas and concerns.
We're looking forward to hearing from you."
Bosman is a
lifelong Kenosha resident and a member of the Our Lady of Holy
Rosary Catholic Church.

BOSMAN REMARKS
TO CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF CROWD
"Thank you. I am
humbled . I never would have thought that we would have such a
wonderful turnout, as busy as we all are and as far down the road as
the election really is.
I want to thank
the committee for the hard work. Especially all of the people who
called their friends and wrote personal notes and emails for the great
group of friends we have here tonight.
It’s early in the
campaign cycle. The election is fourteen months from now. But, friends
kept saying we need to get moving. So, we chose to do something here
after the recent elections and before the holidays. Kick off the
campaign, kick off the weekend and kick off the holiday season.
Forward Kenosha.
If you go to our website and look at our campaign literature you will
see Forward Kenosha over and over again.
Our campaign will
be all about moving forward and continuing the progress that we have
made over the last fifteen years. Our campaign will be positive. Our
campaign will not dwell on the past and the things that we can’t
control. Our campaign will talk about ideas and a vision for the future
of Kenosha.
The Mayoral
election is a non-partisan election. We have made and will continue to
make our effort open to all Kenoshans: Democrats and Republicans, labor
and management, seniors and the young people perhaps voting for the
first time, the “new Kenoshans” of which there are many and the “old
Kenoshans” of which I am one, the ethnic majority and the ethnic
minorities.
If we all work
together and communicate and have respect for one another, we may not
always agree on the path, but we can do great things for Kenosha.
Thank you and
have a great evening and a wonderful Thanksgiving."
